Our Story

“Love at First Swipe”

Anna: We met on Bumble, which is crazy! I don’t remember the first message I sent him.

Jim: I knew from the moment I saw Theo’s picture that I had to meet him. Anna was cute too.

“First Date”

Anna: We got frozen margaritas, which anyone who knows me knows are my favorite, so that was a great sign. I remember walking up to the restaurant and Jim was waiting outside, leaning against the building in a very James Dean-cool kind of way. I was nervous, but conversation came easy, and the date ended up lasting hours.

Jim: Our first date went so well we closed down the restaurant and moved to a rooftop bar, where we got along so naturallt it felt like our 100th date.

“Antarctica”

Anna: Going to Antarctica was the most incredible thing I’ve ever done (besides marrying Jim of course). We joked that if we could make it for two weeks in a ship’s cabin without driving each other nuts, we’d move in together… we didn’t fight, but I knew we wouldn’t. I loved getting to see Jim’s sense of adventure.

Jim: We went to the end of the world together… we had no internet and no TV, but we easily entertained each other, and that’s when I knew she was the one.

“Moving In”

Anna: Shortly after we moved in together, my parents asked me if I loved Jim. I told them I loved him enough to move to Jersey for him, which is more than I’d ever thought I could love anyone.

Jim: Having both moved from NYC, we were pretty dependent on take out. Learning to cook together has been so much fun, and Theo is the best sous-chef/vacuum cleaner.

“The Proposal”

Anna: It was perfect! The Ocean House has kind of become our spot, so I’m so glad he proposed there, and now we can go every year for our anniversary! It felt like us, out on the patio under the stars, followed by a fabulous dinner and a night celebrating with our dog, Theo.

Jim: Everything went smoothly, a trip to Watch Hill and an exceptional dinner at COAST, except for one small detail… I forgot the ring! I panicked. She thought I was joking. I really saw how we work together in a crisis; with a little problem solving we managed to have the ring delivered right as apps were being served. It wasn’t a surprise anymore, but she still said yes.

The Wedding

Anna and Jim: Stay tuned!
